ブタサーコウイルス (PCV) は、分節化されていない環状ゲノムを持つエンベロープを持たない一本鎖 DNA ウイルス (クラス II) です。ウイルスキャプシドは正二十面体で、直径は約 17 nm です。 PCV は、ウイルス科チルコウイルス科のメンバーです。
現在の PCV 2 ELISA 検査キットは、ブタ血清中の PCV2 抗体を検出するための間接 ELISA に基づいています。
